Editing Techniques

One editing technique we could use in our video is the use of different effects on the clips. The Script use a black and white effect in their music video for their song 'Breakeven'. This gives a feel of unhappiness and a very dull mood. However, the effect is not used all the way through the video, the character is shown looking at video's on his phone of a girl who he maybe once had a relationship with, these video's are in colour which represent a mood change and maybe he is seeing the light with her.

Another editing technique that we could use is slow motion. This can help show emotions in clips but can also help focus the viewers attention an a significant part of a video. We could use slow motion to help show rejection in our video as it is our concept so it is very significant in showing the story behind the music.

Another editing technique we know we will use is stabilisation of the clip. As well as using a tripod to keep the shot steady, we will stabilise all clips we would like a steady shot for so that the shot looks professional.

We can also use transition effects between clips to make a smooth transition instead of jump cuts.

Target Audience

We decided that we would give our questionnaire to 5 people from each age group so that we had a wide age range for our research and also we had a lot of data to decide our target audience. From our research we can see that the majority of the people we asked thought that the gender of the target audience should be mainly a female audience.
Another thing we can see from our research is that people think our age range should be between 16 and 30 years of age.
